ELSA Summer Law Schools 2010

Seminars, Conferences, Law Schools, Lectures, Panel discussions

Seminars & Conferences completes ELSA members' formal university curriculum by raising students' consciousness of global, legal, social, economic and environmental issues. The key area of Seminar & Conferences includes seminars, conferences, law school, lectures and legal debates. ELSA organises international seminars and conferences dealing with a legal topic of high international interest and provide additional skills and knowledge to law students.

On a seminar topics in question are discussed in a plenary. Conferences require more individual participation and scientific contribution of the participants. Topics of conferences are discussed in workshops with a final edited and revised version to be reported in the plenary. An international seminar or conference provides accommodation for the participants and normally lasts three days.

ELSA Law Schools, on the other hand, aim to be annual and have a scientific program with a legal topic. Law Schools are organised in close co-operation with the academic or institutional partner(s), with the law faculty, law institutes etc. The scientific program includes lectures followed by workshops, which deepen and emphasize different areas of the lecture.

In conclusion legal education is provided through seminars, conferences, law schools, lectures and panel discussions. ELSA International cooperates with universities, institutions and law firms in order to provide law students and young lawyers events with the best academic quality.
